CCBA 100 – Hermeneutics: How to Study the Bible (3 units)
An overview of the science of biblical interpretation. Exegesis v. isogesis discussed as well as steps in proper biblical exegesis.
CCBA 101 – Survey of the Old Testament (3 units)
A general overview of the Old Testament books, including introductory issues, relevant background, and major themes. The shadow of Christ in the Old Testament is the special focus of this class.
CCBA 102 – Survey of the New Testament (3 units)
A general overview of the New Testament books, including introductory issues, relevant background, and major themes. The reality of Christ in the New Testament is the special focus of this class.
CCBA 103 – Essential Christian Doctrine I (3 units)
A presentation of the essential Christian doctrines including the doctrines of the Bible and God.
CCBA 104 – Essential Christian Doctrine II (3 units)
A presentation of the essential Christian doctrines, including the doctrines of man, sin, salvation, the church, the Christian life, and last things.
CCBA 105 – Historical Theology (3 units)
History of the Church from the apostolic Fathers up through the postmodern era with an emphasis on the development of doctrine. Highlights key thinkers in the patristic, medieval, Reformation, modern, and postmodern eras.
CCBA 106 – Christian Apologetics (3 units)
An overview of various areas of apologetics addressing some of the most serious intellectual challenges to the Gospel and the Christian world view.
CCBA 110 – Special Topics (3 units)
The program offers courses on various topics related to theology and ministry. Two different courses must be taken by certificate students.
CCBA 120 – Ministry Internship (3 units)
A directed experience where the student assists a pastor and/or elder in their area of ministry in order to gain valuable hands-on ministry experience.
